I create new karakuri boxes inspired by the traditional mechanical craftsmanship that has been passed down in the Odawara and Hakone regions since the Edo period. Each box has its own unique shape and way of opening — you might need to press, shake, or twist it. Pick one up and try it for yourself!

雪どけ

雪の結晶をモチーフにした仕掛けのある指環入れです。仕掛けはとてもシンプルで、収納部分は雪どけ水のようにゆっくりとあらわれます。サクラ材を染料と顔料で着色しています。
This is a ring box with a hidden mechanism inspired by a snowflake. The mechanism is very simple — the storage compartment appears slowly, like melting snow. The cherry wood is colored using a combination of dye and pigment.
