Title

Pure Silver 「ichimatsu Gozame」tea leaf box.

The technique of making Japanese swords is applied to make Silver nine hundred ninety nine vessels. In the “ichimatsu pattern”, vertical and horizontal gratings are hammered with thin iron rods about two hundred thousand times to complete the checkered pattern. The “ichimatsu” pattern has the meaning of “connect” and “forever” because the gratings continue.
